One of the hallmarks of Toraja Mountain Coffee is what we call a “low acid texture.” This is unique to our rare beans, harvested from only sun, rain and soil high atop the mountains of the Toraja region of South Sulawesi Indonesia.
So what does low acid actually mean? Well, maybe you already know. Many coffees can produce a sort of heartburn-like feeling when you drink them. The coffee seems a bit aggressive and caustic to the stomach. Our coffee is the exact opposite. And very notably so.
Because of the purity of our beans and the methods of natural farming employed by our farmers, our beans have a very low acid feel. Even drank black, or as espresso, you will not feel any heartburn. You will not have to muscle down a bitter cup. Our beans are notably smooth. The flavor is bright and full, but easy on the palate and stomach. It truly is a characteristic of Toraja Mountain Coffee that you will come to appreciate and love. And this applies to all of our beans, from Utara all the way to Pulu Pulu.
Please enjoy and next time you have a cup, notice the texture and what we mean when we say “low acid texture.”
